About Me
My name is Judy Shea. I live in Massachusetts with my husband, two incredible daughters and my Bishon pooch, Dixie. I am self taught artist, educating myself by taking workshops and continually learning and experimenting... and not to mention some of my wonderful artists friends that have taught me so much.
I discovered Polymer Clay about 12 years ago when I came across a face in a craft store made from this material called polymer clay. Since the moment I gave it a try... well the rest is history.
As a Polymer Clay and Mixed Media Artist, I enjoy altered & collage art on canvas. If I'm not working on an all clay piece, I incorporate it into my my other non-clay creations as embellishments and enhancements.
I am a member of the Rhode Island Polymer Clay Guild (www.ripcg.com), and several mixed media groups on Yahoo. I also lurk in some of the polymer clay and altered art sites. So many artists open their minds and hearts to sharing their style and techniques. In the past, I've produced my own local cable show demonstrating some of my clay art and I've also included a segment where children showed their artistic talents by making their own craft creations.
There are many artists that inspire me. I have taken classes from Polymer Clay Artists: Victoria Hughes, Kathleen Dustin, Louise Fischer-Cozzi, Julia Sober, Betty Parissi & Dayle Doroshow. Mixed Media Artists: Michele Charles & Tim Holtz and Assemblage Artist, Michael deMeng. Of course, learning from videos and books/zines and being part of an these groups that embrace an extraordinary league of artists, is pushing me towards becoming the best artist that I can be.
I hope you enjoy my website, and my work. Please stop by the guest page to say "hello". Thanks for looking.
My art is now being displayed and sold at Serendipity in Hudson, MA (www.serendipityinhudson.com).
Let's Create! Judy
